TRIP TO WINDSOR CASTLE POEM 6
The wind is blowing again! Through the trees and along the streets, picking up not just leaves but dreams, hopes and aspirations. For in Autumn, it is the wind of change. Transition is unsettling sometimes, but it is also natural, so we call situations stagnant if they do not develop. Artists are often pushing through stagnant periods, one does this by perhaps taking up another technique or even practicing another art one is not so familiar with.
“Remember that the basic rule of vocabulary is to use the first word that comes to your mind, if it is appropriate and colourful.” Stephen King
Confidences
I can see you and you can see me,
I keep you in my confidence,
And you therefore know all,
That there is to know.
I do not know your whereabouts,
I do not know your title,
I do not know your family,
And you do not know mine.
But you know my secrets,
My sights and despairs,
My worries and cares,
And these I do not share.
So with my confidences,
You have it all,
We share our bread,
And our writing.
Is this enough?
I find it sufficient and satisfying,
As the taste of your skin is familiar,
And the sound of your breathing soothes me.
It is enough, but the ink spreads,
And our identities unclear,
It appears we are hitched in a deeper
Fashion than to which we initially agreed.
I will keep your confidences,
If you keep mine.
“Faeries, come take me out of this dull world, For I would ride with you upon the wind, Run on the top of the dishevelled tide, And dance upon the mountains like a flame.” William Butler Yeats
