TRIP TO WINDSOR CASTLE POEM 37
The day is sunny and bright and brisk. The delights of life are best appreciated in poetry - a view into the personal thoughts of an individual. Winter is a symbol of the fallow - unproductive seeming, the land is restoring it's nature, ready for the next season. Many animals hibernate and hoard their food to keep warm and grow while sleeping mostly. A poet may be hibernating, but inside them they are developing too!
The "comfort of reclusion, the poetry of hibernation”. Marcel Proust
Away
Away from the prying eyes,
Of others my dear we shall,
Lie content and warm,
Each other’s solace and morn.
For others do not see,
As we do my love,
Content is of personal nature,
And cannot be shared.
For we share our content,
But we are full selfish
In our love as children,
Because it is ours.
So hold on to this,
As I treasure the moment,
For no one will know as we,
Away from the prying eye.
“Long sleeps the summer in the seed." Alfred Tennyson
