TRIP TO WINDSOR CASTLE POEM 36
To bare all as an artist requires courage - as much courage as to do so in your life. It is easy to conceal or go through the motions, pretending to be someone other than you are. So there is skill - the ability to complete the task ahead and then the art comes from that. That is the artist's process - to use that skill to show something real to them.
“I would like to paint the way a bird sings.” Claude Monet
Broaching The Subject
Feeling shy of the matter,
I shrug it off with a sigh,
For to broach the subject,
Would be to know.
There is nothing to tell,
While the matter
Has not been raised,
So I am safe.
The look in your eyes,
Says ‘Yes’ but to what,
I do not know,
For I dare not ask.
Such ecstasies are scarce won,
So I play it out unconcerned,
Of consequence or reason,
For there is only you.
“Every act of creation is first of all an act of destruction." Pablo Picasso
