TRIP TO WINDSOR CASTLE POEM 1
Sometimes the rain is falling and we are refreshed and happy. Sometimes we feel gloomy because it is raining. To some people rain is a good sign as their gardens will grow nicely. To others it symbolizes wet feet all day in the office. There are many more I'm sure, but they overlap! So we are full of apparent contradictions or tensions. This is something that an artist highlights by saying these things explicitly.

Through the Rain
Bridged only by our love,
I see you once more,
Your visit is not daily,
And I mourn that.
Although I should not
Enjoy the accoutrement of War,
I do and treasure your visit,
Although a chill of fear greets me.
I am not the centre of the issue,
Nor would I want to be,
But I am in the centre,
Where you are.
As you sail past me,
I realise that you need me,
For you treat me so,
And there is reward in that.
So I lodge in your heart,
For now while you whisper,
And grunt your secret messages,
To my ear alone uncomprehending.
But I do understand, my dear,
It is not feminine intuition,
that keeps me abroad of the subject,
But language and the game we play,
Therefore, is dangerous.
How many hearts have lain strewn,
Prostrate for you, I do not know,
But your secret is mine,
And it is threatening.
