TRIP TO HISTORICAL BATH POEM 45
There is no truer moment than when you are inspired to write. Other times it is someone else's ideas that come true to you in a personal way. Influence of other artists is something that is considered part of the maturing process.
“It is looking at things for a long time that ripens you and gives you a deeper meaning.” Vincent Van Gogh
A Broader View
They say in time you gain a broader view,
Things look less sharp and also feel so,
The path seems shorter and the rock,
No longer an obstacle but a friend.
In times troubled I weep and sigh,
But later the impulse to cry is stalled,
And to fret is wild and coarse,
For knowledge encourages compose.
I see that you do not anger easily,
But because I do you chide me,
Chastened I feel wild not tempted,
To comply but sorely hurt by your disdain.
If I were to see your sense and censure,
More pliable I would be to your cause,
But this to me remains a mystery,
And so we will have to live in harmony.
"I wanted to go on sitting there, not talking, not listening to the others, keeping the moment precious for all time, because we were peaceful all of us, we were content and drowsy even as the bee who droned above our heads." Daphne du Maurier
