TRIP TO HISTORICAL BATH POEM 12

Pushing into new areas of your artistry requires thought and courage. Bravery comes in many forms and we mostly hope that it will come to us in crisis. To dig deep is another type of bravery. Some people are afraid of emotions, because the passionate end of this is often too hot or too painful to bear. Art heightens this, but also makes it a secondary experience.

“Expose yourself to your deepest fear; after that, fear has no power, and the fear of freedom shrinks and vanishes. You are free.” Jim Morrison

Bravery

I must admit my love,

Our lives require courage,

Beyond measure to find,

Even the pace of our tread.

To be brave comes naturally,

When in love as the heart quickens,

And all lusts are pursuits,

Guaranteed for our youth.

But where does this come from?

This ferocious nature from paced

Beginnings and sorrowful partings,

As no one has ever known?

It centres in the heart,

But approaches from the mind,

And absence only serves to deepen,

Although we are truly apart.

“He who is brave is free”. Seneca
