TRIP TO HISTORICAL BATH POEM 10
Looking at stained glass, there is something so special when the light shines through. There is a luminosity to the effect of the coloured pigment that really does in me enliven the thought of the divine. Art is often something to focus on to bring us out of ourselves to something higher.
“Don't tell me the moon is shining; show me the glint of light on broken glass.” Anton Chekhov
Devoted
Your smile leaves me devoted to you,
A host to my darkest and brightest hour,
A reflection of my smile I know I am whole,
For you help me know myself.
To see yourself is not easy,
And your eyes give a flattering light,
In the glimmer of a half-lit flame,
I see myself and see more.
For in your eyes I see perfection,
And cradled in your arms,
I can safely speak the truth,
For you love me more than you should.
How can you love so much?
My love is shared by my family,
But I have your love in totality,
When you only have a share.
“When you look at a piece of delicately spun glass you think of two things: how beautiful it is and how easily it can be broken.” Tennessee Williams
