TRIP TO HISTORIC BATH POEM 62
The sun is shining out brightly now and the flowers will start to surface. So gaiety and the Spring is back soon - and welcome it is!
“The earth laughs in flowers.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
Flowers
There are flowers enough for you and me,
I see them all around welcoming us,
Their colours decorate the green of the field,
Bringing gladness to all folk who gaze.
Bring the flowers to me and we will arrange
Them in a vase for only our enjoyment,
Such pleasures are rare and measuring
The joy they bring cannot be done.
Pass me the flowers and a chain for your hair,
We can make to pass the day and festive,
Make our daily life to thank the Lord,
With praises made without a word.
There are flowers enough for you and me,
Bright and fragrant they blossom,
Opening their gay and delicate petals,
Showing us how beautiful life can be.
“Spring drew on...and a greenness grew over those brown beds, which, freshening daily, suggested the thought that Hope traversed them at night, and left each morning brighter traces of her steps.” Charlotte Brontë
