TRIP TO HISTORIC BATH POEM 61
We look towards to Valentine's Day soon. So recently festive, we now turn to the festival celebrating love. What a wonderful thing!
“In war, numbers alone confer no advantage. Do not advance relying on sheer military power. It is sufficient to estimate the enemy situation correctly and to concentrate your strength to capture him. There is no more to it than this. He who lacks foresight and underestimates his enemy will surely be captured by him.” Sun Tzu
Concourse
Numbers in a line – when will mine come?
Staring ahead avoiding the discomfort,
Of another mind racing and impatient,
A hand touches mine and I see.
Numbers in a line – my lucky turn!
Of all the candidates you chose me,
A fateful turn to forever mine indeed,
Without which I would not succeed.
Brave to turn, our eyes do not meet,
But I smile as you read my mind,
And here you are on the mirror-line,
Facing ahead to our destiny together.
Our pulses broadly beat the time,
Brave in their depth they reassure,
The other united and strong,
I demand much and to my surprise,
I get it.
“It is given to us to calculate, to weigh, to measure, to observe, this is natural philosophy; almost all the rest is chimera.” Voltaire
