TRIP TO HISTORIC BATH POEM 59
Happy Chinese New Year!
“It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.” William Shakespeare
Chance
If we were to take this chance my love,
Would we reach the shore?
Sheltered from the storm as we are,
Reluctant to swim we will drown.
There is nothing for it for to venture,
Is to gain and we cannot wait,
There is little value in sitting still,
To strive is our nature and so we do.
Before the vast and trying grey,
We stand to assess the fray,
But to ascertain how we go,
There must be movement and measure.
There is no union nor agreement,
For there is no basis for such,
So a sign is a sign and between us,
We must pace our lives afoot.
“If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading” Siddhārtha Gautama
