TRIP TO HISTORIC BATH POEM 48

Winter's endless grey does not seem to dissipate. We near to February now and we have no relent.

“Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.” Friedrich Nietzsche

Inside The Vestibule

A monster lies inside the frame,

Terrifying he waits in suspicion,

One must be brave to face him,

For after such an experience,

Life is not the same.

We all have a monster inside,

That people fear to meet,

Our wrath unmitigated overflows,

Reason senseless aims its accurate tip,

Ready for the kill.

I rear my ugly head in anger,

To slay or vanquish you in your

Disobedient wayward fashion you

Have missed the meaning and therefore

Spite me.

A monster lurks inside us all,

To placate him is impossible.

“O, beware, my lord, of jealousy; It is the green-ey'd monster, which doth mock, The meat it feeds on.” William Shakespeare
