TRIP TO HISTORIC BATH POEM 43
A flicker of light from a candle can light a whole room. This light will enable us to work or do other things we might not be able to do. So it is with the spirit that takes you when you write.
“There are many faiths, but the spirit is one — in me, and in you, and in him. So that if everyone believes himself, all will be united; everyone be himself and all will be as one.” Leo Tolstoy
Like A Prayer
There is a sparkle,
A light reflected,
In a moment,
As if you were there.
As brief as an utterance,
But as lasting also,
It touched my heart,
And was spent.
By the wings of a dove,
The spirit came of forgiveness,
And by the same,
Came Peace On Earth.
Your caress is like a prayer,
It raises me to you,
Without language,
To a higher place.
“She was a coquette; he was sure she had a spirit of her own; but in her bright, sweet, superficial little visage there was no mockery, no irony. Before long it became obvious that she was much disposed towards conversation.” Henry James
