TRIP TO HISTORIC BATH POEM 40
Cold and miserable days keep the lady inside the house, with many things to think about. So what are we to do? Well rouse ourselves with a cup of coffee and get on with the many tasks of the day.
“A garden to walk in and immensity to dream in--what more could he ask? A few flowers at his feet and above him the stars.” Victor Hugo
The View (2)
Through the window pane I spy,
And what is it that I see?
A shaded figure glancing,
Shifting balance like the wind.
Your situation is most peculiar,
For as I glance myself our eyes,
Do not meet as if there were,
Nothing to expect from you.
Why do you shyly stare upwards,
For there are ways for us to meet,
Do you plan to stay there without,
Purpose to glance all day?
What do you hope to know?
Or are you forestalling action,
To dull my wit like chastened metal,
No longer malleable for the treatment?
“I wondered how many people there were in the world who suffered, and continued to suffer, because they could not break out from their own web of shyness and reserve, and in their blindness and folly built up a great distorted wall in front of them that hid the truth.” Daphne du Maurier
