TRIP TO HISTORIC BATH POEM 30
New beginnings. New ideas. New routines. These all start in the New Year. I continue with my resolution of writing a poem a day and just wrote my fifth song for Picture Of Me - to a poem I wrote as lyrics called Sweet Love.
“If you do not love me I shall not be loved. If I do not love you I shall not love.” Samuel Beckett
Disclosure
We can keep the secret no longer,
For I have revealed you to all,
In your natural splendour you stand,
For all to look up to and to vie.
There is no reason to fear this,
For you are proud of the greatest stock,
And it shows well carved in the rock,
As visible as you or I but permanent.
Forsake the other ladies and leave me
Ravished by your sincere heart and words,
Before I faint before you in intoxication,
For there is no reason to abandon me.
My fervour for you is real and you can see,
There is little between you and me,
For the chisel is wide and the surface wet,
So you and I appear to be well met.
“If words come out of the heart, they will enter the heart.” Rumi
