TRIP TO HISTORIC BATH POEM 27
We draw to a close to December, bringing in the New Year! The year 2021 bereft of days is giving way to 2022 - The Year of the Tiger according to Chinese astrology. This is judged by the lunar calendar and so is to be celebrated in February. So first we have January 1st to bring in!
“I think... if it is true that there are as many minds as there are heads, then there are as many kinds of love as there are hearts.” Leo Tolstoy
Painstaking
Be careful my love for our hearts are so
Intertwined that separation is a risk,
As to pull apart can only break them,
A pain real and tangible with each pull.
If we were to make a tear we would
Make a painstaking task to bear,
For while we pained we would need
Our hearts to repair the damage made.
We pull apart to make a distance so,
We might earn our daily bread,
And go about our way with careful patience,
And that is good for we build our life.
But better we make our bread to knead,
Our life together so as to take a paste,
Of flour and water to make a mass
Of our own fired and rested to a loaf.
“For what is love itself, for the one we love best? - an enfolding of immeasurable cares which yet are better than any joys outside our love.” George Eliot
