TRIP TO ELTHAM PALACE POEM 5
Imagining what life would be like for the owner of those objects, I wrote this poem. It is difficult to put yourself into new shoes, even if you are imagining someone akin to you in that situation, but that is what they say is the key to insight into yourself.
“And when someone suggests you believe in a proposition, you must first examine it to see whether it is acceptable, because our reason was created by God, and whatever pleases our reason can but please divine reason, of which, for that matter, we know only what we infer from the processes of our own reason by analogy and often by negation.” Umberto Eco
A place of one’s own
We are quite set as here I am
Furnished of my own design,
There is no rouge or powder set,
But brushes to tidy before we meet.
It is not discreet but it is not
Aware of our relationship of sex,
As we are met as father and child,
For such is our sphere and influence relate.
I brush it aside although new to me,
And strange I would be by your side
At all times openly a disciple or hanger-on,
While demonstrating and setting my own image.
These drawers are mine but are these
Trinkets temptations of valued objects,
To be kept and tasted of and accumulated,
Or are they a lending library of sin?
I am assured by society it is for keeps,
But knowing of men is accumulation so simple?
Or are the naysaying crowd correct to crow,
And say the first to enter is the first to go?
“Everything you can imagine is real.” Pablo Picasso
If you align your purpose and action with your inner-self, or personality, they say that you do what is right for you. Then by continuing this, with increased power of self-awareness, you start to effect the World. So you right-action starts to provoke right-action for others, naturally. This is what they called a role model at my school - you were to try to act correctly for you, but also to show other people how they can do this too. So, at all junctures of life, the decisions are simple really, as they are from our internal process - and this is what the artistic function is. So we follow our artistic process and find out from the organic process what it is that we must do, but we find sometimes, we are already doing it as that is what we are supposed to do! It is your greatest influence.
