TRIP TO ELTHAM PALACE POEM 28
I love cooking. It is soothing to me to put together a meal. They say that eating together is a bond that is real and that this deep familiarity is something that is significant to both. I believe this and so I put care into it and find that occasions are deepened by this. Cooking can be an art, but it also provides sustenance to all, so that is the significance that I find. So cooking is also love, as well as writing poems - creativity expressing something vital and real.
“Oh, I adore to cook. It makes me feel so mindless in a worthwhile way.” Truman Capote
Place Card
Upon the card we write,
Our place.
A wish is not enough to secure a future,
It must be planned and then that must be executed.
The home is where the hat is placed,
The home is at the hearth,
The home is where the heart is,
A man’s heart is in the stomach.
So, at the kitchen stove I stand,
Feeding your stomach to reach your heart.
So, we have made a start.
“Live to the point of tears.” Albert Camus
