TRIP TO ELTHAM PALACE POEM 17
We all have battles of the soul in our life. A time that we desperately urge to do something we should not, either because it would hurt us or because the consequences are too great. In the eye of the storm, we find clarity, with the gale around us and not consuming us. Dorothy ended up in the land of Oz, having found herself in the middle of a tornado and her trip home brought her wisdom beyond that she had before.
"You've always had the power my dear, you just had to learn it for yourself." Frank L. Baum
Portcullis
In the eye of the storm,
You lie awake and proud,
What tempests and storms
You have proven,
I can see in your glance.
The storm is in your mind,
My dear,
The perspective we seek is gone,
In lust, jealousy and anger.
You can peer into my soul,
As if it were a mind,
And tell it to rationalise
The irrational with the intent
To subdue.
There is no chamber, no container,
No reframed ideal or situation,
To stop water boiling on heat,
And yet logic carries it.
Heat on ice does freeze my dear,
But in a caustic fashion,
Fastening the member to the cool object,
Forging a bond that tears if pulled
Away.
“There is peace even in the storm” .Vincent van Gogh
