TRIP TO DEAL POEM 5
Life is bitter-sweet and there is nothing better than refreshments by the sea. We came across a dear hut café that had souvenirs and bikes to rent. The bicycles we did not need as the walk was pleasant and we were to go for Fish and Chips. There were people on deck chairs next to the sea front and it was as pleasant as any holiday paradise might be.
"I ask no more than to live a hundred years longer, that I may have more time to dwell the longer on your memory." Jules Verne
Please queue this way
So an amorous encounter is usually secret,
But we are out my love and I do not usually
Feel pressure
But attraction to a magnet is general
And without insulation we appear to be stuck.
In my imagination I saw a sign
And thought to purchase it for us –
It said –
‘Please queue this way.’
There is nothing to spark amorous
Intent but for competition,
So an orderly line is not
Possible as it’s a steeple chase
Of lust and regrets
From beaus fictitious as the Nile’s Flood.
If love were a cup of coffee
To be consumed and then the
Vesicle thrown in the trash
We could queue in such a fashion
And we could go and try all brands
And flavours without regret.
But as you know I do not take things
Light like that,
So these offers are a threat.
They do not know they hold a heart
To crush as to love in such a fashion
Is simply to mature.
Shall we stay young my love?
For my love blossoms as in May.
