SALISBURY PERSPECTIVES POEM 30
The heat has calmed itself and so we feel its relent. We can move at a normal pace and life feels like a breeze.
“I am, a stride at a time. A very short space of time through very short time of space.” James Joyce
The Spaces Between
There is light in the spaces between,
So my love if you look for me,
You will find me as if I were there,
For in your strength you will find it.
The light was made for us to see,
You know it is there if you shut your eyes,
For its absence and so you cannot forget,
As this light is also in you and shines.
At daybreak the light returns,
After the long dark of night,
So dark it seems the bright will n’er return,
Softly at first we see the dawn.
It is in the spaces between we see,
For amid the hustle and bustle,
We can stop and see the truth,
There you will find me in the beyond.
"Ye stars! which are the poetry of heaven!" Lord Byron
