SALISBURY PERSPECTIVES POEM 18
The cloud cover hides us from the sun and we continue in our own way.
"The world is full of obvious things which nobody by any chance ever observes." Arthur Conan Doyle
Before You
I advance the mystery clear before me,
Before you I stand entranced,
Transfixed as if in a dream,
Your secrets to be unlocked anew.
There is something new in your eye,
A glint of understanding of the unknown,
Only you can show me for your stare,
Reflects the fire inside me.
I do not understand but I perceive.
An ancient pact was made here,
And cannot be broken or ruptured,
For it is true and strong in that truth.
Before you I am undone,
Paralysed in your great shadow,
I leave you not for you are in me,
I cannot leave for I want you.
"The true mystery of the world is the visible, not the invisible." Oscar Wilde
