SALISBURY LANDSCAPES POEM 11
Searching for something is usually something inside. As we continue to be blown about by the storm, we think about the people holding it all down.
“I am the wisest man alive, for I know one thing, and that is that I know nothing.” Plato
To Broach The Subject
If I were to ask you to have a cup of tea,
What would you feel now that you are free?
Would it seem like a commitment to keep,
Or something that you would like to do?
Is the politesse something you could play?
To take a little tea upon a wooden tray,
Is really delightful as tea for two is done,
When a gentleman would like to know you.
I would like to broach the subject if you so care,
For to be cosy in public would make them all
Aware of you real intention towards a gal,
So if you like me truly I am not your pal.
Before you give the answer I would like you
To consider that my heart is almost broken,
Having to ask so if you intend to be more
Than just friends taking a walk for tea is my end!
“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.” C.S. Lewis
