SALISBURY JUNCTIONS POEM 3
There is little time to finish all the tasks we have. To plod along is my only option, so I continue, my list of things to do growing, not shrinking with each task accomplished.
“They slipped briskly into an intimacy from which they never recovered.” F. Scott Fitzgerald
Tell Me This
If you were to love another,
Would you let me know,
And would you hold me tight,
So that we did not let go?
If you were to be sad,
Would you tell me so,
And would you kiss me sweet,
So that you know it’s not so bad?
Tell me this as I love you,
Tell me this so I know,
For as our feelings grow,
I would tell you too.
So place your hand in mine,
Feel the beating of our hearts,
For as we closer stand,
We know we’ll never part.
“It is not time or opportunity that is to determine intimacy;—it is disposition alone. Seven years would be insufficient to make some people acquainted with each other, and seven days are more than enough for others.” Jane Austen
