SALISBURY JUNCTIONS POEM 20

Relief from the heat is found in the shade. The bounty of the sun is found in food and so the fruit is ripe and life is good.

"I loathe nowheres - airports and bland hotels. I would rather be in an unpleasant, uncomfortable place rather than one just adrift, floating around." Monty Don

Adrift

There is an anchor for us my love,

So we are not cast out to sea,

Adrift from the shore without content,

Stranded from sense and possibility.

I feel adrift without you,

You are my sun, my moon, my tide,

Directionless a whirlpool forms,

My doubt rises up and yells.

A pearl in the middle of the ocean,

Must be caught before it is cast,

To be fixed in a rightly position,

Seen by all adorned in gold.

So is your arm to me my dear,

A place where I can shine,

So do not cast me adrift with fear,

And tell me I am thine.

“And he could go on in life, existing from day to day, without connection and without hope. For he did not know what to do with himself.” D.H. Lawrence
