SALISBURY JUNCTIONS POEM 2
The Summer's heat slows us all down. A more relaxed pace is necessary to keep on working away. An iced coffee is a welcome relief to charge even the most reluctant poet. So away we go!
“The face is a picture of the mind with the eyes as its interpreter.” Marcus Tullius Cicero
Edging
There is a wisdom to our tracing,
Our fingers follow what has come before,
Learning how we are from others,
The picture becomes ours.
I see you in the picture,
Our fingers point to each and every one,
Learning who we are from others,
We know our place in life.
Here we have a picture,
We frame it enclosing it to keep,
We do as done before and place it,
On the mantel for all to see.
Edging close to you I wonder,
If our love will pass the test of time,
Our fingers clasped frame it,
So I know that you are mine.
"The best part of beauty is that which no picture can express." Francis Bacon
