SALISBURY JUNCTIONS POEM 19
Life is a treacherous thing, slipping out of your hands and taking someone else's plan. It is important to hold onto the things we care about, so as not to lose them in the crush.
“I have been astonished that men could die martyrs or their religion - I have shuddered at it, I shudder no more. I could be martyred for my religion. Love is my religion and I could die for that. I could die for you. My Creed is Love and you are its only tenet.” John Keats
Sacrifice
There is no great sacrifice to be made I know,
But I see to commit to you and grow,
Resentments must be put aside and generosity,
Must flow between us as does our love.
A mother’s love is deep and rare,
Nothing can compare to this,
But as we kiss we must admit,
Our love is stronger for all of this.
We stand together our qualities combined,
Our sacrifice to each other is strong and yet,
We lose nothing of ourselves to this,
Finding as a pair we are stronger than before.
"Some day you will find out that there is far more happiness in another's happiness than in your own." Honoré de Balzac
