SALISBURY JUNCTIONS POEM 18
The sun has broken out triumphant again. The clouds burnt off we sit in his full splendour.
"A single sunbeam is enough to drive away many shadows." Francis of Assisi
So Here We Are
So here we are hidden from view,
The insects rustle in the grass,
The sunbeams laugh and play,
Shaping the gentle to form.
There is no need to hide my love,
For love is young and free,
So through the sordid tales of life,
We remain untouched for revelry.
The path is clear and rough,
But our love will shade the way,
No niceties will cover up the day,
Hold my hand and heart instead.
So here we are hidden in the quiet,
Of the day escaping public view,
Our job is hard but half the task,
Is simply loving you.
"I never saw an ugly thing in my life: for let the form of an object be what it may, - light, shade, and perspective will always make it beautiful." John Constable
