SALISBURY JUNCTIONS POEM 11
We lie in wait, as the heat is due to increase. Stalking around the park early morning, I had a refreshing walk.
"On the ordinary view of each species having been independently created, we gain no scientific explanation." Charles Darwin
Clear View
Perpendicular in its position,
We have a clear view,
For it is a bright day,
With shadow defining.
Along the length divided,
It stands erect and alone,
Chastened by no one,
Resolute in its purpose.
There is nothing to share,
This world is ours alone,
So proud the walk,
Is too far to fathom.
We gloat for it is ours,
There is nothing for it,
But to take the chance,
Capturing ourselves.
"To note an artist's limitations is but to define his talent. A reporter can write equally well about everything that is presented to his view, but a creative writer can do his best only with what lies within the range and character of his deepest sympathies." Willa Cather
